Rubi Rose Benton is an Kentucky native born on October 2, 1997. She was raised by Nardos Gebrelul, her mother (an Eritrean immigrant dentist, born in Ethiopia) and John Benton her father (a lawyer with Japanese as well as African American descent). One of her fathers was adopted. Scarlette and her older sister, as well as Coral, her younger sister, are also adopted. [2] As a child she was baptized an Orthodox Christian. She is influenced by Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, and Foxy Brown. Rose first gained fame by being the main model in hip-hop group Migos in their music video for their single "Bad and Boujee". Rose started appearing on Twitch streams along with DJ Akademiks who is a Jamaican-born East Coast Hip Hop commentator. The music career of Rose began in September of 2018 when she released a remix of "On the Top" which was produced by Playboi. Her hit single "Big Mouth" became a big hit in the beginning of 2019, and she performed great in the new year. Rose was a guest in American rapper Cardi B's music video for her track "WAP" that was released on August 7 in 2020. A&R Chris Turner signed Rose to LA Reid's record company Hitco Entertainment in 2019. Rubi is also known for her high-profile romantic relationships. She has been linked to such celebrities as Playboi Carti Travis Scott, Ian Connor, 21 Savage, Soulja Boy, Lil Yachty, Takeoff, Lil Tjay and DDG. She is currently not dating.
