Dolly-Parton

Dolly Parton was born on the 19th of January 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised alongside 12 other kids. Her vivid imagination helped her escape from the harsh realities of everyday life. Before she learned to write and read, she was making up her own songs. At the age of eight, she bought the first electric guitar she owned and began singing on a Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. In the same year, she released her debut album on Gold Band Records an independent small-scale label. The singer established a name for herself locally while still in high school but she wanted to perform on a larger stage. The day after she graduated in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Her first charting hits on Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated TV show host at the time was searching for a girl to sing for his show. Parton became a member of Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed to RCA Records. Then, in 1974, she left The Wagoner's Show due to the popularity of her own songs such as Joshua Coats Of Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton composed I Will Always Love You to Wagoner in the aftermath of their breakup. It made it to No. 1. for the first time since 1974.
