She is the daughter of Harvey Welker a Native American father, and Julie Welker an African-American mother. The father of the family is an engineer and her mother is an estate agent. Walker was a student at the Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown, where she received a diploma in 1994. When she graduated at Harvard College in 1998, she enrolled at Harvard College and earned her Bachelor of Arts. Welker is married for over 20 years to John Hughes who is a well known marketing director of Merck Philadelphia. They have two children. The couple began in 2014 having an affair. John is husband to her. He's 4 years younger than her. They decided to take their relationship to a new stage because things were getting so good. They got wed on March 4, 2017. Philadelphia Pennsylvania was the location of the wedding. The wedding was huge held at the Hyatt hotel. Family and close friends attended the reception. Around 300 guests were invited.
